Letter from the President
Welcome to the fifth edition of Ignite!
As we mark this milestone edition, we find ourselves in a time of profound change—globally, nationally, and here at home. These are indeed turbulent times. Yet, through it all, Delaware County Community College remains a steadfast beacon of academic and workforce excellence. Our mission is as urgent and vital as ever: to transform the lives of our students and the communities we proudly serve.
This edition explores the theme of generational change—a powerful lens through which to witness the College’s enduring impact. For nearly six decades, we have empowered students from all walks of life to pursue their dreams, uplift their families, and strengthen their communities. We are honored to play a part in these generational journeys, from first-generation college students to parents and even grandparents returning to the classroom to follow new paths.
In the face of uncertainty, one thing remains clear: our unwavering commitment to each and every student. Whether you are from Delaware County, Chester County, or beyond, DCCC is here for you—meeting you where you are and helping you move forward. Our faculty, staff, and community partners work tirelessly to ensure that all students have the tools, resources, and support they need to succeed.
As you read the stories in this issue, I hope you feel the spirit of transformation that defines who we are. The spark of change begins with a single step, and we are here to help light the way.
Now more than ever, it’s time to follow your flame.
Sincerely,

Dr. Marta Yera Cronin
President, Delaware County Community College
